3D LOVE Card Insert

Make a "LOVE" card insert easily using the printable template. Tell someone how much yo love them - great for Valentine's, Mother's Day & Father's Day cards.
Materials
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Craft knife
  • Ruler
  • A4  card - I used Core-dinations Sandable Card
  • Scorer tool
  • Printer
  • Card base (A5 folded in half)
  • Double sided sticky tape - different sizes including narrow (3-4mm)
  • Sandpaper or ink pad (for highlights, optional)
​Instructions

1. Print the template (pdf below) onto the back ​ of your piece of A4 Card.

2. Using a Paper Trimmer, trim off the excess card around the marked rectangle
3. Score along the red lines with a scoring tool

4. Cut along the Black​ lines using a craft knife
5. Fold the card in half along the red scored line. Then fold it in half again, along the same fold line, in the opposite.
6. One by one fold out all of the letters, making sure that the creases are sharp.
7. Get your base card ready
8. Position double sided sticky tape on the back of the insert.

Note - don't put tape on the back of the letters "LOVE" .

Pull off the protective tape.
9. Fold the card insert in half and then position the insert inside the base card.

*Make sure that you fit it right in tight to the crease.
*Adhere the bottom side first and then close the card base over it, adhering the top.
​*The finished card will only open to a right angle (90 degrees) after the insert is adhered.
10. Highlight the letters (Optional)
  • If the core of the LOVE insert cardstock is a different colour to it's top layer (eg core'dinations sandable paper) then you can gently sand the edges of the letters & the insert to highlight the letters.
  • You can also ink the edges of the letters and insert for a similar effect
