Styrofoam-Tray Carving Prints 

Recycle some foam trays to make simple and easy, yet very effective paint prints

Materials Required:

1. Foam Trays (I used some trays that my cucumbers come on)
2. Sharp pencil (for carving)
3. Scissors
4. Paint (colour of your choice)
5. Paint brush
6. Paper

Instructions:

Using scissors, cut the back off a foam tray

Front of styrofoam tray

Back of Styrofoam tray - use this side.

Using a sharp pencil, carve patterns or pictures into the smooth side of the foam.
Bold patterns work well.
Remember that your final picture will be a mirror image of what you draw.

Cover the "carving" with a thin layer of paint.

Turn over the carving onto paper and gently rub over the back of the foam to transfer th pattern to the paper.
