Lady Silhouette Card 

This look of this elegant card depends on the papers that you use - so experiment with colours and textures to find the look that you want.
The silhoutte is created by layering three shaped pieces of paper on top of each other.

Suggested Materials 

1. Black card measuring 21cm x 15 cm.
2. Three pieces of differently paper. I used cream, red and green. Textured and patterned papers work well for the clothes. 
3. Paper glue
4. Scissors
5. Craft knife
6. Light box 
7. Tracing wheel 
8. Thin double-sided sticky tape ​

Instructions

1. Print out the template.

Two options

1. Print the template onto white paper and use a light box to transfer the images onto coloured / patterned paper - I used this option
2. Print the template directly onto the back of your three different coloured papers

2. Use a light box to copy each of the three images on the template onto a different coloured paper.

Make sure that you trace onto the back of the paper you are using.

If you don't own a light box, print the image directly onto the back of each of your chosen papers

3. Carefully cut out the shapes using scissors and craft knife. When you have finished cutting, turn the pieces of paper over.

4. Fold your black card in half. Then glue the first (red) piece of paper to the card.

The pieces of paper must be glued in the correct order for the image to appear.

5. Now paste the second (cream) piece on top of the red piece. Position it as shown, carefully matching it to the red piece.

It may be helpful to practice matching the three pieces before applying any glue.

6. Paste the final (green) piece of paper on the top. Position it as shown to create the image.

7. Cut a strip of coloured paper (I used red) approx 0.5cm wide and at least 16 cm long, to create a paper ribbon. Using a tracing wheel, mark the sides of the ribbon.    

8. Glue down the paper ribbon along the edge of the card (see picture for placement). You can use either double-sided tape or the paper glue. Trim the ribbon to the edge of the card.
