Fossil Beach Geological Reserve
Mornington
Fossil Beach Geological Reserve in Mornington is a narrow rocky beach with a rich natural and cultural history including Aboriginal middens, fossils and the remains of Victoria's first cement works. There are heaps of small fossils to be seen (look for the grey clay), approximately 10 to 15 million years old. The are some good information signs, and once you know what you are looking for, an abundance of fossils to be discovered.
