Foil Easter Eggs

This craft is a good one to do with older kids - they can arrange the decorations on the egg and you can help them cover it with the foil.
Materials
Card
Aluminium foil
Masking tape, double-sided sticky tape
Decorations - pipe-cleaners, buttons, fake jewels etc etc (Decorations must be flat-backed and not too thick (max thickness about 2mm)
Glue (I used white craft glue)
Scissors
Paint brush (optional)

Instructions
Cut out egg shapes from the card. My eggs were approximately 12cm high and 9.5cm wide. Use double-sided sticky tape and masking tape at arrange your decorations onto the eggs. The decorations should be well spaced. I recommend at least a 1cm border around each piece. This will make it much easier to apply the foil and to for each shape to be distinctive. |

Cover the egg with a thin layer of glue - use an old paint brush or your finger to spread the glue around the egg. Be careful not to loosen your decorations while you do this.

Carefully layer the foil over the egg. Lay it loosely, pushing the foil down between the decorations as you go.
If the foil is too tight, it will rip or tear when you try to push it down around the decorations. |

Carefully smooth the foil around the decorations to bring out their shapes.
Turn over the egg and trim the foil leaving about 3-4 cm border around the edge of the egg. Fold the foil over and use double-sided sticky tape or masking tape to stick it down. |
