Pressed Flowers Frame Card
Thanks for your support!
Pressed & dried flowers make beautiful cards, they don't need much adornment... a simple frame can be all that is required to display their natural beauty.
Pressed & Dried FLowers
There are many ways to press & dry flowers but one of the easiest is to use a Microwave Flower Press.
I've had my Microfleur Microwave Flower Press for about 20 years now & can highly recommend it as an easy & quick way to dry and press your flowers.
I have a detailed tutorial on using the Microfleur Flower Press, which includes several examples and takes you through the process of drying Agapanthas flowers.

Instructions
1. Cut the piece of A4 white card in half to create a piece of card measuring 21cm wide x 14.8cm high.
Score and fold in half to make a base card. Set aside. See my tutorial on scoring and folding card. |
6. Take another piece of differently coloured card and cut a piece 8.8cm wide x 13 cm high.
On the back of this card we will mark out the frame. Draw lines 1.5cm from the top and bottom and 1.3cm from each sides. (In the photo I have incorrectly labelled the widths in mm, they are acturally in cm) Using a craft trimmer or ruler & craft knife cut out the rectangle outlined by the lines drawn. This piece will frame the flowers. |
7. Lay the frame over the laminated flowers in it's intended position, and using a permanent marker, mark out where the corners are - be careful not to mark your frame.
Remove the frame and using a ruler and the permanent marker, join the marked corners to create a rectangle which is a little bigger than your frame. Using a paper trimmer or craft knife and ruler, trim the laminated flowers a few mm inside the marked rectangle. We want to make it just a little smaller than the frame. Sit the laminated flowers over the frame to check that is just smaller than the frame. Trim again if necessary. |
