Daucus Carota is also known as wild carrot, bird's nest, bishop's lace and Queen Anne's lace.
It has white flowers and is native to temperate regions of Europe and southwest Asia, and has naturalised to North America and Australia.
This plant was photographed at Redhill on the Mornington Peninsula, South of Melbourne, Australia. It is often seen growing along the roadside where it self-seeds. There are ants feasting on the nectar.
