Cards Using Rub-ons
I loved the labels that came with some new jeans I brought. I trimmed them to size, sanded them (with sandpaper) for a worn look, and decorated them with Rub-ons. Then I used them to make Christmas Cards.
This card has the edges sponged with black ink. |
This card is similar to the first, but here for a backing piece, I used black card with a white core so that when sanded the centre colour shows through.
|
For this card I used black card with a white core. I sanded it, allowing some of the inner white to show through, matching it to the look of the sanded tag. I also sponged the edges with dark brown ink to match the brown colours in the tag.
|
This card uses torn pieces of brown card as the backing for the tag. The black base card is sponged with white and brown ink. The cream rectangle the tag is layered onto has been sponged with brown ink also.

Cards Using Embossing
Today in the Town of David:
The relevant Christmas verse was printed onto light card, which was then embossed (Sizzix Damask & Regal Flouishes embossing folder set #656648) and lightly inked around the edges and over the embossed pattern. A paper poinsettia embellishment with a frosted glass rhinestone were also added.

Cards Using Glue Stickers and Paper Foil or Pearl Ex Pigments
Trio of Trees and Three-toned Tree:
These two card were made using glue-stickers taken from a kids foil christmas card making set.
I adhered the stickers to the green card, and then coated them with red, gold and silver pearl ex pigments.

This card used the same glue stickers as above, but instead of pigment, I coated them with Foil transfer paper which adheres only to the glue.
Tsukineko also makes a glue pad, which you can use with your craft stamps to make "stickers" for the metallic foils. |
